The MoU was signed by Sonatrach CEO Toufik Hakka and Nicke Widyawati, CEO of Pertamina. The companies have commercial relations since 2002.
"We welcome the signing of this new memorandum of understanding, which demonstrates the will of the two parties to strengthen their existing relations,” Hakkar said.
Widyawati said that the oil and gas industry will need to encourage energy transition and decarbonisation. “Therefore, oil and gas companies need to think creatively and carefully to manage their portfolio,” she added.
