Vision RNG, partners launch Kentucky RNG plant
Vision RNG and its partners, Laurel Ridge Landfill and Delta Gas, said October 30 they had begun commercial operations at their new Laurel Ridge Landfill renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in Lily, Kentucky.
Laurel Ridge Landfill, operated as a subsidiary of Waste Connections, is the source of an estimated 2,250 ft3/minute of landfill gas (LFG) that is converted into about 450,000 mn Btu/year of RNG. The RNG is injected into the natural gas distribution network of Delta Gas.
Besides helping to decarbonise the gas network, the RNG can be used as a transport fuel for compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, substituted for conventional natural gas in industrial applications, used to generate renewable electricity or used by other customers to help reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
