Touchstone prepares for Coho launch in Trinidad
Touchstone Exploration has filed a notice to local residents that it will start pre-commissioning and commissioning operations at the Coho gas facility at the Ortoire block in Trinidad and Tobago, the London-listed company announced on August 3.
Coho is one of a string of discoveries that Touchstone has made at the Ortoire block, which it operates with a 80% interest, alongside local partner Heritage Petroleum, with 20%. It will be the first onshore gas project to come on stream in two decades in Trinidad and Tobago, where most hydrocarbon development takes place offshore.

The notice is required to be submitted at least five business days prior to operations beginning, Touchstone said. Pre-commissioning of the facility and pipeline will involve testing all electronics, alarms and operating systems in the facility, the testing of the flare and emergency shutdown systems, as well as purging air from the system using inert nitrogen gas. Gas will then be introduced to the system from the Coho-1 well.
Production at Coho-1 is expected to increase over time to 10mn ft3/day, Touchstone said.
