Titan Picks Amsterdam as LNG Pontoon Base

Dutch small-scale supplier Titan LNG said January 26 it signed a long-term contract with the Port of Amsterdam to base its LNG bunkering pontoon, the FlexFueler001, there.

The pontoon will be the first of its kind in Europe, says Titan, providing easy, affordable and safe LNG bunkering services of this cleaner marine fuel. The agreement underpins the port's ambition to facilitate the development of the LNG bunkering market in Amsterdam.

Both trucks and LNG transport vessels can discharge LNG into the FlexFueler making it independent from supply of large-scale terminals to load LNG, said Titan. It will be based in Port of Amsterdam's  America Harbour, which can receive both inland and seagoing vessels, owing to the draft of 9.7 metres alongside the FlexFueler.  (An artist impression of the FlexFueler001 is provided above, courtesy of Titan LNG)
