Texas Eastern Files for Cameron Extension Project
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) said October 9 it had received an application from Texas Eastern Transmission for its $149mn Cameron Extension Project in Louisiana.
The application, filed with Ferc on September 26, is for permission to install a new 30,000 horsepower compressor station on the Texas Eastern system in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Along with related facilities and flow modifications, the new compressor station would provide 750mn ft3/day of firm transportation capacity to Venture Global LNG’s 10mn mt/yr Calcasieu Pass liquefaction and export terminal, currently under construction in Louisiana.
Texas Eastern is asking Ferc to approve its application by July 1, 2020 in order to place the facilities into service by November 1, 2021. Venture Global expects to put Calcasieu Pass into commercial service in 2022.
