Sinopec gets first LNG under new Qatari deal

China's state-owned Sinopec reported on January 19 that it had received its first cargo of LNG under a new supply deal with Qatar Energy.

Sinopec reached an agreement to take 2mn metric tons/year of LNG from QatarEnergy over a ten-year period in March 2021, representing its first long-term contract for Qatari gas. The 94,000-mt cargo was delivered on the Al Sahla tanker to Sinopec's terminal in Tianjin.
