Oman pens LNG supply deal with Shell
Oman LNG, the state-owned LNG producer, has signed a 10-year agreement to supply LNG to energy giant Shell, it announced on social media site X on April 17.
The deal, which begins in 2025, will see Oman LNG deliver 1.6mn tonnes/year of LNG to Shell International Trading Middle East. The news follows an announcement on April 16 regarding a separate LNG deal between Oman LNG and Japanese firm Jera.
Oman LNG is a joint venture with the Omani government holding a 51% stake. Shell holds a share at 30%, with additional ownership distributed among Total, Kogas, and various Japanese and Omani firms.
