NTPC to blend green hydrogen in GSPC's gas network in India
NGEL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indian state-owned power company NTPC, has signed an MoU with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) to introduce green hydrogen into the latter's gas networks, it said on January 12. This collaboration extends to the establishment of green hydrogen fuelling stations across Gujarat.
In another move, NGEL has inked an MoU with Gujarat Pipavav Port, a leading private port in India. The collaboration aims to develop a comprehensive green hydrogen ecosystem, including the production of green ammonia. The land provided by GPPL will be utilised for the production of green ammonia, catering to both the export and domestic markets. Furthermore, NGEL is exploring the potential of Pipavav Port as an anchor for the exploration, development, and operations of offshore wind farms in Gujarat.
With a vision for an operational capacity exceeding 3.4 GW, NGEL has an extensive pipeline, including 7 GW currently under implementation.
