IOG awards another North Sea contract
London-listed IOG has awarded a duty holder contract for installation and pipeline operatorship, as well as facility operations and maintenance (O&M), at its south UK North Sea gas project to ODE Asset Management, the company said on May 17.
ODE will be responsible for delivering production operations from the offshore infrastructure IOG is developing as part of the first phase of the gas project, involving the Southwark, Blythe and Elgood gas fields. This infrastructure includes the Blythe and Southwark platforms, the Thames Pipeline and the associated subsea connector lines.

The contractor will also provide O&M and integrated services for the project's first phase, including the onshore control room at the Bacton gas terminal, travel, training and crew for offshore activities, emergency response, warehousing and quayside support, and all associated regulatory interface and compliance.
"The contract has mechanisms to incentivise ODE AM to maximise operating efficiencies and an appropriate risk-reward formula for performance against agreed criteria," IOG said.
IOG awarded the contract on behalf of its joint venture with CalEnergy Resources, a unit of US investment group Berkshire Hathaway, that is overseeing the gas project. The Blythe and Southwark platforms that will be deployed in the area were announced as mechanically complete in late April. Production drilling also began last month.
Other contractors involved in the project include Subsea 7, Petrofac, HSM Offshore and Noble Corp.
