Inpex gets validation for its carbon-neutral gas
Japanese energy company Inpex Corp has received third-party validation for its carbon-neutral gas calculation and operation system following an evaluation, it said on January 31.
The evaluation was conducted by Socotec Certification Japan in accordance with international standards and referencing the 2014 version of the PAS 2060 specification for the demonstration of carbon neutrality published by the British Standards Association, the company added.
Inpex said it has set goals to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and will proactively engage in energy structure reforms towards the realisation of a net-zero carbon society. It will work closely with city gas business operators to which it supplies wholesale natural gas and implement measures contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases, it said.
