Fire breaks out at Gazprom's Amur gas complex: press

A fire has broke out at Gazprom's Amur gas processing plant in east Siberia, local media reported on October 8.

Combustion at a gas flare at the complex got out of control, according to local media site Amur.Info. Videos of the fire were posted by the news site and on social media.

According to the Izvestia newspaper, the fire broke out at 02:40 Moscow time and its spread was contained by 03:20. There have been no reported fatalities or injuries.

Gazprom launched the Amur gas processing plant in June. At full capacity it will handle 42bn m3/year of Siberian gas on route to China.
