FERC Approves Cameron Access In Service Request
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) on March 13 approved a February request from TransCanada’s Columbia Gulf Transmission to place its $300mn Cameron Access Project in service.
Cameron Access consists of about 43 km of new pipe and one compressor station in Louisiana, and will move about 800mn ft3/day of natural gas to Sempra LNG & Midstream's Cameron LNG complex under construction in Louisiana. All three trains at the 14.95mn metric tons/year (mt/yr) facility are expected to be commissioned in 2019, although Sempra and its partners (Mitsubishi, Mitsui & Co., Engie and NYK Line) are contemplating an expansion which would increase capacity to nearly 25mn mt/yr.
