CNOOC Begins Construction of Two More LNG Tanks at Fujian Terminal
CNOOC Ltd has started construction of two more storage tanks at Fujian LNG terminal, CNOOC's subsidiary CNOOC Gas & Power said Wednesday.
Each tank will have a storage capacity of 160,00 cubic meters of gas. CNOOC said this will be the largest investment in the LNG terminal facility. The tank will be 82 meters in diameter and about 50 meters in height.
Fujian LNG terminal, which is country’s biggest, will have a capacity 6.3 million tons of LNG per year once the two tanks are complete, CNOOC Gas & Power stated. It will have a total of six tanks, a wharf and pipelines.
At present, CNOOC has LNG import terminals in Guangdong, Shanghai, Fujian, Zhejiang, Zhuhai, Hainan and Tianjin. The seven LNG terminals have total unloading capacity of 27.8 million tons per year. In 2015, CNOOC’s LNG imports amounted to 13.15 million tons, accounting for nearly 70 percent of total of China's imports.
