Armour Awarded Further Oz Roma Shelf Acreage
Australian Armour Energy has been awarded further Roma Shelf acreage in the Surat Basin by the Queensland Government, the company said November 15.
“The award of this tenure adds to our plans for the reinvigoration of the large Permian gas and condensate plays of the Surat Basins. Our current activities are demonstrating that the conventional reservoirs of the Surat still have a long-term future in producing oil and natural gas for Eastern Australia,” Armour’s CEO Roger Cressey said.
The area, PLR201718-2-4 is considered highly prospective for gas and liquids, and Armour’s 100% owned gas pipeline infrastructure – pipeline licence no. 20 – traverses the newly awarded block, it said.
Armour currently produces gas via its Kincora Project at 9 TJ/day (8.4 million feet3). This gas is sold from Armour’s 100% owned tenements and it is working towards increasing production to 20 TJ/day in 2019, it says.
It is also producing 170 barrels/day of light oil or condensate, and up to 19 tonnes/day of LPG.
