Yemen Shortlists 18 Firms for Oil, Gas Exploration

Yemen's Ministry of Oil and Minerals announced Sunday that 18 global energy firms will bid for 20 onshore and offshore oil and gas blocks.

The ministry said that the move will help Yemen in boosting oil and gas out which in turn will add to the economy.

These 18 companies were shortlisted from 45 foreign firms that presented applications to bid for nine onshore and 11 offshore blocks, Yemen News Agency said.

Some of the companies shortlisted are DNO, KUFPEC, Circle Oil, Total and Dana Gas.
