Woodside cancels sale of Macedon, Pyrenees assets offshore Western Australia
Australian energy producer Woodside announced on April 11 its decision to cancel the sale of its interests in the Macedon and Pyrenees assets offshore Western Australia.
“Woodside commenced a process in the second half of 2023 to consider the potential for divestment of its interests in the Macedon and Pyrenees assets. Following completion of this process, Woodside has decided to retain its current ownership levels in both assets,” the company said.
“Macedon continues to be a critical supply source of gas to the Western Australian domestic market and Woodside continues to see strong value in both assets,” it added.
Woodside's net working interest production from the Macedon field and Pyrenees Area averaged approximately 28,000 barrels of oil equivalent/day during the second half of 2023.
Asia Pacific-focused Jadestone Energy had in February this year confirmed its participation in the bidding process for Woodside's interests in the Macedon and Greater Pyrenees projects.
