WA joins Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre
The Western Australian government has joined the Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), it said on September 14.
The Future Fuels CRC is an industry-focused research, development and demonstration partnership supporting the decarbonisation of Australia's energy networks through the use of low carbon fuels, including hydrogen and biomethane.

The government said that it is working with Future Fuels CRC to “find safe and reliable solutions to repurpose existing infrastructure, and developing new infrastructure to transport future fuels.”
The partnership aims to ensure the reliable and safe operating life of energy infrastructure, and deliver coordinated safety policy and regulations associated with the production and delivery of low carbon fuels, the government added.
The government said it has committed around A$90mn ($66mn) towards developing a job-creating renewable hydrogen industry and is on target to meet the 2022 goals set out in the Western Australian Renewable Hydrogen Strategy.
