Volvo partners with HAM group to introduce LNG-fuelled trucks in Peru
Volvo Peru has delivered its first LNG-fuelled trucks on the South American continent to HAM Criogenica Peru, a subsidiary of the HAM group based in Spain, HAM group announced via a LinkedIn post on May 2.
HAM group, with operations in Spain, France, Italy, and Peru, has chosen Volvo's LNG-fuelled trucks as the primary vehicles in its fleet. It plans to incorporate over 100 Volvo High-Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) units in the coming year.
The company said that it had been dedicated to promoting natural gas for vehicles (NGV) and biomethane as genuine, safe, and environmentally friendly alternatives for more than three decades to achieve the decarbonisation of its fleet.
LNG offers significant environmental benefits, with the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 100%, nitrous oxides by 35%, and fine particles by 95%, thereby contributing to improved air quality and sustainability, it said.
HAM group last month inaugurated its new mobile LNG-CNG refuelling station in Italy.
