Vietsovpetro Looks to Gas Production in 2013
Vietsovpetro, the oil and gas joint venture set up by Russia and Vietnam, plans to start gas production at the Thien Ung field in the Nam Con Son basin off southern Vietnam in 2013.
The field will produce 220 million cubic meters of gas a year, the Vietnam news agency quoted the company deputy general director Le Minh Tuan.
The company was working on a plan to build a pipeline to transport the gas ashore for power generation and fertiliser production, the report said.
