Vietnam’s T&T Group partners Kogas, SK E&S for energy projects
Vietnam’s T&T Group will collaborate with South Korea’s Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) and SK Group on gas-based power, LNG and hydrogen projects in Vietnam, the Vietnamese firm announced on June 26.
The partnership with KOGAS aims to develop gas power projects, including converting coal power projects in Power Plan VIII to gas power. They will also explore opportunities in hydrogen production to meet the potential demand for power projects.
Additionally, T&T Group and KOGAS will jointly develop projects utilising LNG refrigeration, operate an LNG cold chain business nationwide, and engage in other LNG-related activities.
T&T Group, KOGAS, KOSPO, and Hanwha are already partners in the Hai Lang LNG Power Center Project Phase I in Quang Tri province, which is expected to commence commercial operations in 2026-2027.
Furthermore, T&T Energy, a member of T&T Group, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SK E&S, an energy company of SK Group. The collaboration involves the development of LNG terminals and gas power plants in line with Vietnam's development orientation and regulations. SK E&S will be responsible for finding financial resources to support the implementation of the projects.
