Vietnam, Kazakhstan to Boost Cooperation in Oil, Gas Sector

Vietnam wants to boost cooperation with Kazakhstan in the field of oil and gas, country’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said Saturday.

The Prime Minister said the Vietnamese government would create optimal conditions for Kazakhstan businesses to operate in Vietnam, highlighting the potential in oil and gas exploration, reported English language daily Vietnam News.

Dung met with officials from KazMunaiGaz in the Kazakh capital of Astana. He hoped the group would further co-operation with PetroVietnam in exploring and exploiting oil and gas resources, and providing technical services for these activities.

During the meeting, Dung witnessed the signing of a co-operation agreement on the exploration, exploitation and provision of oil and gas services between PetroVietnam and KazMunaiGaz, Vietnam News reported.

The two companies could consider collaboration projects in the respective countries as well as other locations.
