Victoria Prepares to Boost Cameroon Sales
Victoria Oil & Gas is preparing for higher gas output and industrial sales from the end of September following the successful completion of a deeper drilling programme in Lagboba, Cameroon, it said August 17.
Well La-107, operated by wholly-owned subsidiary Gaz du Cameroon (GDC), is expected to be a "substantial producer," according to CEO Ahmet Dik. It successfully reached its target depth of 3,180 metres and an additional 23 m of net gas sand from Lower Logbaba Formation brings the total net gas sand encountered in Upper and Lower Logbaba Formations to 58 m. Flow tests are now planned for the first week of September and La-107 is expected to be a producing well by end September, VOG said in a London Stock Exchange statement.
GDC's plan is to progressively develop additional gas supplies from Logbaba from wells La-105, La-107 and La-108 over the next six months. Following the flow tests from La-107, this well can then be placed into production to supplement gas from La-105. VOG believes that the additional reserves expected from La-107 and La-108 will also allow GDC to conclude longer term contracts with Douala's high-usage gas customers, with whom GDC has been in talks over the past months.
Dik said: "It is very satisfying to have over 50 m of net gas sands in La-107 'behind pipe' and I would like to congratulate the drilling team on the safe delivery of this well."
