Uzbekistan ramps up gas supply by 5%
Uzbekistan lifted 26.3bn m3 of natural gas in the first six months of 2021, marking an increase of 4.7% year on year, data published by the country's state statistics committee show.
The growth did not make up for the 17.1% slump in output recorded in the first half of last year, however, when coronavirus restrictions undermined gas demand in Uzbekistan and neighbouring China.
Uzbekistan also recorded a 2.2% slide in oil production in the first half to 350,000 metric tons, while gas condensate supply was stable at 672,300 mt. Production of gasoline grew by 4.6% to 546,500 mt, while output of diesel dropped 22.7% to 407,000 mt.
