US LNG exports pick up the pace
US federal data published August 26 show natural gas volumes exported in liquefied form increased from the previous week by 10bn ft3.
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that 18 vessels laden with LNG left US export terminals during the week ending August 25. Six of those left from the Sabine Pass terminal and three left from Cameron, both in Louisiana. From Texas, four left Corpus Christi and three left from Freeport. One vessel left from the Cove Point terminal off Maryland and one departed from Elba Island off Georgia during the reporting week that began August 19.

All told, those vessels were carrying a combined 67bn ft3 of gas in the form of LNG. For the period ending August 18, 16 vessels departed US LNG export facilities carrying a combined 57bn ft3 of gas in LNG form.
The US economy took in an average of 5.1bn ft3/d in natural gas piped in from Canada, an increase of 0.1bn ft3/d from the previous reporting period.
Natural gas piped to Mexico fell by the same amount as Canadian imports increased, from 6.1bn ft3/d on average to 6.0bn ft3/d for the week ending August 25.
Average marketed natural gas production increased 0.8% from the previous week.
