Uktransgaz’s Chairman Resigns
The Chairman of the Board of Ukrtransgaz Valery Yasiuk resigned from his post, saying he does want to protect Ukraine’s new government. Yasiuk said he was not involved in any alleged illegal practice in relation to the purchase of floating rigs.
“Like all professionals, I am sure that increasing domestic production of gas is important for Ukraine's energy independence. This requires technological modernization of the gas enterprises. But I was not involved in tenders or in any eventual price rigs. Any accusation against me is baseless," Valery Yasiuk said in a note available just in Ukrainian or Russian.
Ukrtransgaz is Ukraine’s state-owned shipping company.
“Since my appointment as Ukrtransgaz’s head, speculation began. It was instrumentally used to attack the new government. I do not want to give any, even artificial, reasons to discredit the government, especially in such a difficult time for the country. So I wrote a letter of resignation as chairman of the Board of PJSC Ukrtransgaz,” said Yasiuk.
