Trend: Ukrainian FM: Europe interested in South Stream project
The South Stream gas supply project to Europe will be discussed at an autumn high level meeting in Turkmenistan.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said at a briefing in Tbilisi on Tuesday that Ukraine initiated the consideration of the diversification of energy supplies to Europe.
Kozhara stressed that Ukraine intends to remain the most important transit corridor for Russian gas supplies to Europe. He said the country has the necessary potential capable of delivering up to 200 billion cubic meters of Russian gas.
However, he stressed that Ukraine is also considering the opportunity of diversifying gas supplies to that country. MORE
