Ukrainian Energy: Ukraine to help Russia with gas transit during maintenance of Nord Stream

The Russian Gazprom has addressed Naftogaz of Ukraine with a request to pump the planned volumes of export gas to the EU, particularly to Germany, during the maintenance of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, ZN.UA reported citing a source with the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.

"Ukrainian gas transit companies will help the Russians with the transit of gas. This is also the additional income for the Ukrainian gas transit system, and further confirmation of the reliability and efficiency of its work," notes the newspaper.

However, no one could predict to what extent the transit of Russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transit system will reduce after Nord Stream reopens.  MORE
