Ukraine Showcases LNG Terminal Project
Ukraine has presented its LNG Terminal project to world energy industry leaders, in Houston Texas, a Ukrainian government agency has said. The terminal was presented as part of a roadshow on Ukrainian investment projects.
Head of the State Agency for Investments and Management of National Projects of Ukraine Vladyslav Kaskiv said the terminal was particularly important as Ukraine's energy security was reliant on it.
"The presentation has actually become the start of the world leaders' entering the oil and gas market in Ukraine," he said. "It is also evidence of great attention from international businesses in the implementation of national projects. LNG Terminal is a national waterway of national projects, because Ukraine's energy security depends on its implementation."
Chairman of the Coordination Council of the LNG Terminal National Project Vitaliy Demyaniuk said that the project had found interest among the industry figures present.
"Our presentation evoked a positive response among potential investors. Most investors are interested in a model of LNG Terminal's profitability and the routes of gas supplies to Ukraine."
The Investments and Management agency said that four companies in particular had shown interest in the possibility of cooperation in the project. These were Halliburton, Cameron, Baker Hughes and Kvaerner.
