Turkmenistan Finds New Natural Gas Field

A new natural gas field has been discovered in the Bagtyyarlyk region of the Lebap province in eastern Turkmenistan.

The area is being developed jointly by CNPC and Turkmenistan. The newly discovered field may potentially produce up to 1.5 million cubic meters of natural gas daily. It is the main supplier of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.

Turkmenistan has the world’s fourth largest natural gas reserves and the country supplies gas to China, Iran and Russia.
