Turkish Stream 'Some Way Off': Ambassador
Turkey's ambassador to Russia, Umit Yardim, does not see prospects for signing of the agreement on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline between Russia and Turkey in the near future.
“The talks have been going on, but we are still far from signing of the agreement,” Umit Yardim told Russia 24 TV channel while commenting on the gas pipeline Turkish Stream across the Black Sea bed.

On the eve of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Russia scheduled for August 9, Yurii Ushakov, adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, told journalists that the construction of the nuclear power plant in Turkey and the Turkish Stream will be discussed during talks in St Petersburg.
“It is planned to discuss the perspectives of continuation of the joint strategic projects in field of energy. We mean the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power station and Turkish Stream gas pipeline on the Black Sea bed,” Ushakov said.
Turkey is Gazprom's second biggest export market after Germany. In 2015 Gazprom exported about 27bn m3 of gas to Turkey. Currently Russian gas is exported to Turkey via the Blue Stream gas pipeline and the Trans Balkan gas pipeline.
