Turkey's Fortis Energy starts biogas plant in Serbia
Turkey's Fortis Energy on February 13 announced the operationalisation of its newly established biogas plant in Dolovo, Serbia.
The 3-MW Dolovo biogas power plant is expected to generate more than 28mn kilowatt-hours/year of power, providing electricity equivalent to power 12,000 homes.
The Dolovo biogas plant employs organic matter, including animal waste and food scraps, to produce biogas. By doing so, will contribute to preventing the emission of 20mn kilograms of CO2 equivalent that would otherwise result from the use of fossil fuels.
Istanbul-based Fortis Energy is presently engaged in energy investments in the Balkans, Turkey, and the Netherlands. Its solar and biogas power plants generate over 330,000,000 kWh/year of electricity.
