Transocean secures $222mn ultra-deepwater drillship contract
Drilling services provider Transocean has secured a $222mn contract from state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation for the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 for work offshore India, it announced on August 30.
This award pertains to offshore work in India and involves a 21-month programme set to begin in the first quarter of 2024. The contract is anticipated to add approximately $222mn to Transocean's backlog, excluding a $5mn mobilisation fee.
ONGC this month revealed that during the April-June quarter, the company made four discoveries, with one discovery on land and three offshore.
