Touchstone targets first Ortoire gas in Aug

Full gas production at the Ortoire block onshore Trinidad and Tobago is on track to be reached in August, its operator Touchstone reported on June 27.

The pipeline connecting the Coho facility to the Central block has been completed, and hydrotesting is scheduled to begin this week, Touchstone said. After this, the pipeline will be ready for first gas.

The surface facility is 98% complete with all infrastructure in place, the company said, and construction is underway on the 63-ft above ground pipeline to the Central block tie-in point.

"Based on the current contractor schedule and expected pipeline commissioning and handover process, we are targeting full production in August 2022," Touchstone said.

Touchstone has made a string of gas discoveries at Ortoire, where it holds a 80% interest, while its local partner Heritage Petroleum has 20%. Coho will be the first onshore gas project to come on stream in 20 years in Trinidad and Tobago.
