Thai Egat Receives Malaysian LNG
The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand ( Egat ) December 28 received the first of the two LNG cargoes from Malaysia’s Petronas LNG, the company said the same day. The cargo arrived at the Map Ta Phut receiving terminal.
Last month, Egat selected Malaysian Petronas to supply two cargoes of LNG of 65,000 metric tons each. Egat said that the second cargo is expected to arrive in April 2020.
Egas said it will use the regasified LNG to fuel the newly-built Unit 1 of the South Bangkok power plant in Samut Prakarn province, in addition to Unit 5 of Bangpakong power plant in Chachoengsao province, and Unit 4 at Wang Noi plant, Ayutthya province.
