TechnipFMC Bags Reliance Contracts

UK-based oil and gas services group TechnipFMC has been awarded ‘significant’ subsea contracts by India’s Reliance Industries for the MJ1 gas field offshore India in the Krishna Godavari basin, it said July 1. For TechnipFMC, a ‘significant’ contract is worth between $75mn and $250mn.

These contracts cover the fabrication and installation of flexible risers, rigid and flexible flowlines and umbilicals. The MJ1 is a high-pressure high-temperature gas field in water depths ranging between 1,000 and 1,200 metres and will be connected to a new floating production storage and offloading facility, TechnipFMC said.

Reliance operates the Krishna Godavari basin projects with 60% interest while BP holds 30% stake. Canada’s Niko Resources holds the remaining 10%.  Reliance Industries and partner BP June 11 announced the sanction of the MJ project, also known as D55, in Block KG D6. MJ is the last of three new projects in the Block KG D6 integrated development plan.
