Technip Wins Indonesian Contract
Italian producer Eni has awarded TechnipFMC a “large” integrated engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation contract for the Merakes gas project, offshore Balikpapan Indonesia, TechnipFCM said March 25. The company calls a contract “large” when its value is between $500mn and $1bn.
This contract covers five deepwater wells, and their 50-km tie back to the existing Jangkrik floating production unit in Indonesia. The project scope includes engineering, procurement, installation and pre-commissioning of subsea equipment such as subsea trees, a manifold, large bore deepwater high pressure flexible lines, umbilicals and distribution hardware, flexible risers, flowlines and jumpers.
Last December, Eni got the government approval to start work on the Merakes development project. Gas will be shipped to the Bontang LNG plant.
