APA: Taner Yildiz: “New gas pipeline to be built from Russia to Turkey is not an alternative to TANAP”
The pipeline to be built for transportation of Russia gas to Turkey is not an alternative to the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP), said the Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey Taner Yıldız, APA-Economics reports quoting NTV channel.
“Turkey is a participant of TANAP. EU a few times expressed its dissatisfaction that construction of new pipeline designed for transportation of Russian gas to Turkey may have impact on realization of TANAP. However, it’s not so”, the minister said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on December 1 that the South Stream project is closed. On the same day, Russian Gazprom and Turkish BOTAS companies signed an agreement on construction of a pipeline for transportation of Russian gas to Turkey. Transportation capacity of the pipeline will make 63 mln cm.
