Subsea 7 Wins North Sea Pipeline Work

London-based Subsea 7 has secured a contract for installation and diving operations at the Europipe II, Heimdal and Statfjord (EHS) oil and gas fields in the Danish and Norwegian waters of the North Sea.

The engineering firm will carry out engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) work on pipeline end manifolds as well as bypass and tie-in spools at the Europipe II, Oseberg Gas Transport and Statpipe pipelines. The infrastructure is operated by Norwegian gas transport operator Gassco.

Subsea 7 valued the contract at $50-250mn. It was awarded by the pipelines’ technical service provider, Norway’s Equinor.

Project management and front-end engineering design (Feed) work is slated to start immediately, Subsea 7 said. The company will deploy its diving and construction vessels to carry out installation work between 2020 and 2022.

“This award builds on our established and strong relationship with Equinor, and recognises our substantial experience of delivering our installation and dividing capabilities safely, efficiently and reliably,” Subsea 7’s vice president for Norway, Monica Bjorkmann, commented on the award.
