Stabilis Solutions plans LNG bunkering facility on US Gulf Coast

Stabilis Solutions is in the final stages of planning the construction of the first dedicated LNG bunkering facility along the US Gulf Coast, according to the company’s quarterly report released on August 8.

“The company is finalising plans to build the first dedicated LNG bunkering facility along the US Gulf Coast and is in discussions with several potential marine customers in strategic ports across the US for further expansion,” the report stated.

In October last year, Stabilis Solutions, which is listed on Nasdaq, secured a multi-year bunkering contract with NYSE-listed Carnival Corporation to supply LNG fuel for the Carnival Jubilee, the newest vessel in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet.

During the quarter, Stabilis Solutions also began the phased expansion of storage capacity at its Texas liquefaction facility, increasing it from 270,000 gallons to 630,000 gallons. This expansion aims to strengthen the company's inland LNG supply chain, meet growing demand, and provide additional redundancy as it extends its infrastructure to the Gulf Coast waterfront.
