South Pars Phases 15, 16 to Come Online by Early Next Month

Iran is expected to launch South Pars phases 15 and 16 by early November, according to an official in oil industry.

Roknoddin Javadi, deputy oil minister and managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) further stated that phases 19 to 21 could also come online by end of current Iranian calendar year which end on March 19, 2016, Press TV reported.  

When phase 12 will become fully operation later this year it will produce 2.5 bcf/d, he said. Phase 15 and 16 will also produce 2 bcf/d of natural gas, Javadi added.

The official stated that after full commissioning of phases 12, 15 and 16 along with some parts of phases 17 and 18 production will reach 6 bcf/d, Press TV quoted Javadi as saying. .

He said parts of Phase 19 will be also made operational to produce 1 bcf/d of natural gas.

“On the whole, when these phases come on-stream by the end of the year, the field’s overall natural gas output will increase by 7 bcf/d,” he stressed.
