ABC.az: SOCAR: Azerbaijan not sure of Nabucco West realization

Azerbaijan is confident in the prospects of implementation of gas pipeline project Nabucco.

Today in Baku vice president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Elshad Nasirov has stated that Nabucco project has already narrowed to Nabucco West, and it is not a fact by 100% that even this truncated project will be selected and implemented.

"This widely discussed project would unite Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in those volumes that are produced in these countries, with the pipeline with length of 3,600 km. But if the EU has not found the means to implement this project, we would not argue with the opinion of the EU about how the interests of European countries are protected. We will not argue with the EU, but we can confirm the fact of inability of the EU and member countries to find ways to build a pipeline," Nasirov said.  MORE
