Sky Harvest to Develop Gas Storage Plants in Turkey

Sky Harvest Windpower Corp has announced that it will develop underground gas storage plants in Turkey, following the creation of a joint venture corporation in which Sky Harvest will take a 65 per cent stake.

Sky Harvest will fund the new joint venture, named Levant Energy Inc., with an investment of $500,000. The investment will enable the joint venture to identify and begin securing proposed sites for the project, as well as the initiation of the permits required for the project.

Sky Harvest says that it expects its current interest in the project to be diluted as additional funds become available .

Levant Energy has already appointed a CEO and President for the venture, Bertan Atalay, former COO and director of Finavera Renewables Inc.

"We are excited about the energy sector opportunities that exist in the Republic of Turkey and look forward to working with Mr. Bertan Atalay to generate more value for our stockholders,"president of Sky Harvest Willian Iny said.

"Mr. Atalay’s experience in the power industry, and his knowledge of Turkey’s energy infrastructure, make him a great asset to the joint venture. We believe that this project will complement our current portfolio of wind power properties and allow us to potentially become a diversified energy provider."

The new venture coincides with Sky Harvest's plans to rename the company from Sky Harvest Windpower Corp to Sky Harvest Energy Corp to better reflect the variety of the company's operations.
