Skangass Plans to Finish Works at LNG Terminal in Pori in Autumn 2016

Skangass unveiled its plans for the LNG terminal in Pori, Finland, explaining the project will be operational in Autumn 2016 with a capacity of 30,000 cubic metres.

”The investment decision will result in speedy progress in the construction project. It is highly important that the Pori terminal is completed on schedule and that we can launch deliveries to our existing and new customers. Interest in LNG is found among industrial, shipping as well as heavy-duty land transport customers,” Sales and Marketing Director Tommy Mattila from Skangass commented on Tuesday.

The company is working to create ‘an efficient LNG logistics chain in the Pori area’ maximising the NOK 185-million investment support from the Finnish government.

Skangass has already interests in other two terminals in the Nordic countries. One is in Lysekil, Sweden, and the other in Øra, Norway.

Skangass is controlled by Gasum, which has sold its assets in Estonia to Alexela Energia AS on Monday.

‘Gasum has finished the arrangement and sold Gasum Eesti to Alexela Energia. This arrangement is part of  Gasum's strategy to focus on the development of the gas market in Finland and the Nordic countries. Gasum has owned Gasum Eesti since 2002,’ reads a note released on Monday
