Sinopec's Fuling Shale Gas Field Passes Milestone
Sinopec-operated Fuling shale gas field has produced over 30bn m3 of gas since it became operational in 2013, the company said on May 11 in a statement.
At present, the output is 17mn m3/day, Sinopec said without providing any yr/yr comparison. The Fuling shale gas field is located in central southwest China’s Sichuan basin and is an important gas source for the Sichuan-East Gas Pipeline. Since the start of the year, the field has transported 2.1bn m3 of gas to provinces and cities along the Yangtze River economic belt.
A total of four shale fields have been discovered in the Sichuan basin in recent years: Fuling, Weiyuan, Changning and Weirong.
