Sinopec Injects Gas in New Underground Storage

Chinese state Sinopec March 12 said it has started injecting gas into a new underground storage facility, Wen-23.

Wen-23 is a key construction project under the 13th five-year plan and the largest gas storage facility in central China, the company said. The facility is built from a depleted gas field and has a capacity to store 10.4bn m3 of gas, with first phase capacity of 8.4bn m3.

After completion, the facility will be connected to various pipelines operated by Sinopec.
