Siemens to supply turbines to Chinese power plant

Siemens Energy on March 17 said it will supply two 460-megawatt F-class gas turbine power islands for the second phase of Shenzhen Energy Corporation’s Fengda power plant expansion project.  

Under terms of the agreement signed by the companies, Siemens will supply two sets of SGT5-4000F gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and related auxiliary equipment for the project. Located in Huizhou City, Guangdong province, the project is expected to be put into operation in 2023.

When completed, the estimated power generation capacity will exceed 2.7bn kWh/year and carbon dioxide emissions target per unit GDP will be significantly reduced as will nitrogen oxide emissions, Siemens said.  

Siemens and Shenzhen signed a strategic partnership agreement in December 2019 to jointly build energy laboratories and expand cooperation in energy technology research and development, solutions for clean energy, smart energy and digitalisation, and green hydrogen energy.
