Shell completes first LNG bunkering in Port of Zeebrugge
Energy major Shell has completed the first-ever LNG bunkering in the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium's second-largest port, Tahir Faruqui of Shell Trading announced on LinkedIn on April 2.
The LNG was supplied to a pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) owned by Anji Shipping (Hong Kong), a subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation.
“We want to thank the port of Zeebrugge and our agency, Hoppe Maritime Group for collaborating on this first bunkering, which expands our global marine LNG fuelling network to 20 locations across 12 countries,” Faruqui said.
Shell recently completed the first-ever LNG bunkering of a cruise ship in the Port of Gibraltar, with Silversea Cruises' Silver Nova. It also completed the first-ever LNG bunkering of a cruise ship in the Port of Gibraltar.
