Sharjah National Oil Corporation, Uniper Sign LNG Deal
United Arab Emirates has signed a second gas deal, with the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) agreeing October 11 to buy LNG from German Uniper, the two companies said in a joint statement.
First gas is expected by the spring of 2018 into the Port of Hamriyah in the Emirate of Sharjah. Gas will flow to the Sajaa gas field complex and then into the existing pipeline network throughout the Northern Emirates. No information about the value of the deal was provided. The statement also did not divulge the amount of gas.
This is the second deal for UAE after Qatar Petroleum and Dolphin Energy October 5 entered into a new long term gas sale and purchase agreement. Under the new agreement, which was signed in Doha, Qatar Petroleum will deliver more gas to Dolphin for export to the UAE through the existing subsea pipeline, Qatar Petroleum said, without divulging the exact quantity of gas that would be supplied.

The supply of the additional gas quantities under this new agreement will be allocated to Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority (Sewa) and Ras al Khaimah Gas Commission (Rakgas) using the existing UAE Eastern Gas Distribution Network.
