China's Shanxi Province Produces Record CBM
China’s Shanxi province produced a record 5.65bn m3 of coalbed methane (CBM) in 2018, CNPC reported on its information website January 7 citing data from Shanxi Provincial Natural Resources Department.
Shanxi province holds the largest CBM reserves in China and accounts for almost 90% of country's output. At present there are ten major projects in operation, CNPC said.
Chinese state-owned explorers have ramped up output to meet strong domestic demand, which has been rising since early 2017.
