Saudi Arabia has discovered commercially viable quantities of natural gas in the Red Sea and Empty Quarter.

The country’s oil minister, Ali al-Naimi said there were no plans to move to immediate production.

The kingdom will continue to explore for tight gas and heavy oil for future energy needs, al-Naimi said.
